Hey look, I'm posting on Dreamwidth again. Been busy with assorted stuff like reviewing books for http://www.kuri-ousity.com/ and doing more new pages of Jeepers http://girlamatic.com/jeepers/2010/03/17/jeepers-and-the-big-city-part-3-mornings/

Still not sure what to do with this blog :) But might start posting something here, maybe some toy pictures.

Because a Transformers blog might be sort of fun.

Reading some webcomics

And testing the crossposting feature... should be finishing a new page of Jeepers tonight too.

http://www.girlamatic.com//comics/mell.php?view=archive&chapter=13897 Lil'Mell's got a return appearance from the principal, Miss Divine, who I think is based on Lea Hernandez. I love the cartoonist cameos Shaenon works into Lil'Mell :)

http://dummcomics.com/index?sid=305 Looks like Skadi's starting a multipart arc. Keen. Eat all the beasts!

http://americanelf.com/ I need to buy more Kochalka books....

http://www.webcomicsnation.com/shaenongarrity/skinhorse/series.php?view=archive&chapter=38295&name=skinhorse Dang, Zombies and superintelligent Samoy dogs teaming up with Psychologists in Drag fighting Werewolves. You should probably read it :)

Anime News- ADV Films Solicitations for July 2009, License Rescues Ahoy!

So it looks like CPM's recent bankruptcy as seen it's first offspring, namely ADV license rescuing assorted titles. Which means, new licenses! And very cheap ones at that. Found on the AnimeonDVD forums-

CPM license rescues from ADV-
Grave of the Fireflies - 89 minutes - $19.98 - 7/7/09 - this is a Studio Ghibli film, the only one not part of Disney's license due to CPM's existing license, which now looks to be under ADV's hands.
MD Geist - 91 minutes - $14.98 - 7/28/09- CPM's SpokesMecha, MD Geist, actually a psychopath in a mechasuit, star of the ultraviolent OVA and it's sequel, which I'm guessing are packed togethere here. I have the original DVD, and it's a show fans love to hate [though still love]
Now and Then, Here and There: Complete Collection - 650 minutes - $29.98 - 7/7/09- 12 episodes, cheap! Just got the CPM edition myself.....
World of Narue: Complete Collection - 650 minutes - $29.98 - 7/21/09- 13 episodes, cheap!

ADV rereleases- some of these are very lowpriced compared to past releases- interesting new strategy ADV....
Aquarian Age: Complete Collection (Re-release) - 325 minutes - $34.98 - 7/14/09
Burn Up! (Re-release) - 45 minutes - $14.98 - 7/14/09
Mezzo: Complete Collection (Re-release) - 325 minutes - $34.98 - 7/21/09 [my summary based on my viewing of the previous boxset- slick violence fest, a more general audiences take on the infamous OVA]
Nuku Nuku, All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl: Complete Collection (Re-release) - 800 minutes - $39.98 - 7/28/09 [Megumi Hayashibara overload!]
Those Who Hunt Elves: Complete Collection (Re-release) - 600 minutes - $39.98 - 7/7/09

Info from RightStuf and AnimeonDVD's forums

Manga News- Let's Look Around Amazon

An Arsene Lupin manga?
Curiously, no publisher is listed, though it's classified under comics/graphic novels. The artist illustrated obscure ComicsOne manga Electric Man Arrow. Apparently from Kumon Manga Classics, it looks like this is a 2nd attempt after titles were solicited back in 2008. It's possible it's just a fluke in Amazon's system mind you, given no publisher is listed.

King of RPG
Otaku Overlord Jason Thompson's King of RPG's pops up on Amazon.ca with a Jan 2010 release date.

Bandai's Code Geass R2 novel which I think might of been announced. Also noteable is what looks to either be an omnibus or a boxset of the Eureka Seven manga listed here

And now our hunt turns up something interesting!

Previously licensed by Dark Horse, some fairly expensive listings pop up from "Kodansha Comics", albeit larger sized volumes.

Akira Vol.1 and Ghost in the Shell. Dark Horse's edition of Akira has been unavailable for awhile, but I'm curious if this means their assorted Ghost in the Shell licenses will be expiring.

Hey, a new blog!

I've decided to differentiate this from my livejournal account, jeepersjournal, and make it similar to what I did for a time on Tokyopop's web community. Basically, it will be an allpurpose geekery blog, mostly comics and anime, where I post assorted news, reviews, and other tidbits, in addition to updates on my webcomics and some original art here and there.

Now to go update the look of the blog :)
